Cluny Crichton Farm Trail

A farm trail is available from Cluny Crichton farm to Kennerty Farm.  The trail goes past the ruins of Cluny Crichton castle which are located near the Cluny Crichton farm steading.   There are magnificent views to the north to the Hill of Fare, to the west to Lochnagar and to the south and east over Royal Deeside.

The farm trail links in with other hill and woodland walks including the area around the Raemoir House Hotel.  These walks are very popular with tourists and visitors.

Lapwings (peesies, peewits as they're also known) are probably our most distinctive farmland bird, with their exotic black and white glossy coat and beautiful crest, round winged shape in flight and recognisable display call.  More information on the Project and lapwings is available at Farming and Wildlife Action Group under FWAG services and at RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds).
